| Wouldn't
it be great to have access to an endless variety of
simulation experiences that would help you learn, master a new skill,
explore faraway places or just be entertained—all at your fingertips?
That's the dream of the Public
Simulation Network. And researchers at IST and UCF are working right
now to make it come true.
Imagine a network infrastructure that can
draw elements from highly complicated simulations designed for military
or medical training or scientific study and make them accessible
to family-based experiential learning activities in science, math and
technology. That infrastructure is the Public Simulation Network.
PSN will be dynamic, able to provide
content customized to the user's needs, nature and culture and, best of
all, easy to use. This is more than just a video game network. PSN will
build an infrastructure that will transfer scientifically accurate
simulation data into educational content accessible at many stages. The
result will be new levels of understanding, better access to learning
and higher entertainment values.
We're just getting started. As PSN grows
and evolves we'll have more to report—and more exciting ways to
report it. Come back often and check our progress.
