Exhibition of Simulation
Research for Entertainment
Highlights of the November 19-21, 2002 exhibit...
AquaGauntlet
In the channel from cyberspace to physical space -
the border between the real and virtual worlds, cyber creatures hatch from
underwater eggs. In the reflections of underwater waves, a futuristic
Aqua Knight battles these creatures using guns and virtual armor,
surrounded by foam coral and a seaweed floor. The mission assigned to the
defenders of the real world is to assemble underwater, and destroy the
invaders, without leaving a single survivor.
Mixed
Reality Aquarium: Undersea attraction
Talk with the animals when applying Mixed Reality to Zoos and
Aquariums. We will be able to provide whole new layers of learning to
traditionally hard to change venues. Playing games and learning to talk
with virtual dolphins with sonar will change your way of thinking about
marine life.
Immersion Center
The IST Immersion Center will be a world leader in researching and
developing innovative augmented and virtual environments. A
multi-disciplined research team of behavioral scientists and engineers
will look into the future to create new virtual environments from public
safety and medicine to entertainment.

Virtual Forest: Scientific
Visualization for edutainment. In the shade of trees, users explore
the virtual forest of the Southeast United States generated from
biological data and algorithms surrounded by an elumens hemispherical
screen. Users navigate the botanical world with the touch of a large
backlit track ball.
