Scott Dillon is the Associate Director for Federal Strategies at the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST). In this role, he is responsible for facilitating strategic partnerships and helping external government, commercial, and academic stakeholders access IST expertise to support high-priority research and solve complex problems.

Scott joined the IST team after retiring from a 31-year active-duty career in the U.S. Navy. His Navy experience included training and service as a flight test officer and extensive subsequent assignments related to aircraft system development. These assignments provided insight into the broad range of modeling and simulation requirements and challenges currently affecting U.S. and allied defense and applied research programs.

At IST, he is working to build partnerships that will enable such programs to more quickly and effectively incorporate the new concepts and technologies being developed by the University’s world-class researchers.
